This 8.5” wide by 10.25” tall clock is made from one of my favorite stones that I have cut and polished. The bookmatched, natural edge stone is predominantly grey with a strong black jagged vein outlined with white on both sides. Cut perfectly, this gives the perfect visual impression of a sound wave, while the bookmatching makes these veins meeting their mirrored partner at an angle, gives the impression of a mountain. Bookmatching is a technique used in woodworking and stonework where two or more pieces are cut from the same, in this case, stone and arranged to create a symmetrical, mirror-like pattern.  Imagine a stone being cut in half and then opened like a book.

This clock features custom Godwood "flame" shaped copper hands and stylized diamond shaped copper number 12 at the peak of the mountain and solid copper wire bonsai tree grows out of the top all of which have been treated with blue/green patina.
